I'M INTERESTED IN HIRING YOU! HOW DO WE GET STARTED?

First, you should make contact via email, or the contact form on this site, and give me an initial idea of what you're looking to have done.

If it's something I have availability/capacity/capability for, we will have an initial consultation (which could be a series of emails, or a chat online) where I get further details from you - the more info you can give me during this stage, the better. Things like colour scheme, basing details, any specific shades/items/brand of paints - and ESPECIALLY if you want the figures ready for a tournament! - the more I know, the better I can prepare for the job and have it meet your expectations.

A rough quote can be provided if required - note this this will be a GUIDE ONLY, and may change depending on how quickly I get through the job. If you would then like to proceed with hiring me for a commission, we can then arrange hand-over of the figures.

No deposit is required (though some clients choose to do this to help them budget for the final amount due) but your final total is due within 2 weeks of the completion of the commission. Figures will not be returned until the total amount due is received. Cash payment on collection is fine (please have correct amount!) though bank transfer is preferred - all bank details are provided in the invoice emailed at completion of the job.

I'M KEEN BUT UNSURE HOW I GET MY FIGURES TO/FROM YOU...

If you're located in Brisbane, we can discuss how we manage this during the initial consultation - usually it's easier for me to come to you, though sometimes a customer is given the coordinates to our secret HQ...

If you're located outside of Brisbane, you'll need to mail the figures to me, at your own expense. When the job is completed, the cost of mailing the figures back to you will be included in your invoice.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU SPECIALISE IN?

Well, getting good tabletop quality painted miniatures back to you in a reasonable amount of time, I guess!

The majority of commissions so far have been for (and used) Games Workshop products (such as Citadel Paints on Warhammer 40,000 figures), though I'm always keen to try new things/systems/methods.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU ARE RELUCTANT TO DO?

To be completely honest: historical figures and anything smaller than 28mm.

I mean, I'll do those sorts of jobs but they are definite weak spots in my skill set.

Oh, and eyes. Good lord, eyes are still difficult!

REAL TALK - HOW MUCH DO YOU COST?

As of 1 July 2024, I charge an hourly rate of $10.00 (regardless of type of service ) plus a 10% Administration Fee, which covers things like additional required supplies (paints, basing textures etc), transporting figures, general office admin, etc.

A time log is kept for each job, and can be provided in your final invoice to confirm the amount of time taken on your project. As a guide, a Warhammer 40k Space Marine can take around 2-2.5hrs, so if you budget around $20-$25 for each you should be covered.

ANYTHING ELSE / ANY FINE PRINT?

My rate/prices are non-negoti

  • My rate/prices are non-negotiable

  • No refunds on commissions - this is why I insist on discussing requirements before commencing, and providing you with regular updates to ensure we are both happy with progress made. I'll gladly spend time correcting an errors on my part but any changes on your part in regards to colours/scheme/project size will cost you more in the long run.

  • Cash payment on collection is fine, but please have correct amount on you! Bank transfers are preferred; details are provided on invoice.

  • Please be patient and respectful - this is literally a one-man operation, run as a side hustle in between a busy day job and family life. Manners and common sense/courtesy are free! :)
